Antex was started in 1945 by a man named Eddie Kline from Holland. After the war Mr. Kline started making gramophones players and noticed the antiquated soldering irons were not very efficient for the newer soldering techniques so he set out to make a smaller iron for his needs. He eventually created the first pencil style iron which became the basis for Antex. Over the years our product has been used on numerous well known projects including the Boeing 747 and on tour with the Beatles to name a few.

The Current Owners since 2004 include Andy Owen & Ian Lockhart who are the Executive Directors of Antex Electronics Ltd, In September 2007 Antex USA Inc was incorporated as a 100% owned subsidiary of Antex Electronics Ltd in Virginia USA. The incorporation is to help the expansion of the brand into the USA of which Andy Owen is the president, Ian Lockhart is now the Managing Director of Antex Electronics Ltd.
