Founded in 1946 Ancillae-Assumpta Academy grew from its beginnings as a school for girls, Ancillae Academy, to the addition of a school for boys in 1955, Assumpta Academy, to the merger of the two schools in 1969.

The community of Ancillae-Assumpta Academy embraces the educational mission of the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, an international community of women, whose ministry is education in service of the Gospel.
