While radiographic (RT) methods are still widely in use today, advanced ultrasound techniques save both time and money when compared to RT. During an outage at a local refinery, utilization of these advanced ultrasonic techniques were able to provide the client with over 1,000 weld examinations, saving them untold amounts of funds in the form of lost man-hours and down-time should they have chosen only RT inspection methods.
