After maintaining a solo practice for six years, Dr. Kumar welcomed Dr. Michael Blubaugh, a board-certified internist, to the team. That allowed Carolina Medical Center to offer medical care in Colleton County as well as Allendale-Fairfax County, Hampton County, and Bluffton Area. The practice also hired their first nurse practitioner in 2012: Meredith Hipp, ACNP.
In collaboration with Quest Diagnostics and LabCorp, Carolina Medical Center has a convenient, in-house lab for diagnostic testing. Dr. Kumar, Dr. Blubaugh, and Ms. Hipp can even attend to their patients at Colleton Medical Center.
