Commonwealth Construction Company of Virginia, Inc. has been in business for over 13 years serving Richmond and surrounding areas. In that time, we have come to understand and appreciate the needs of our clients. Established as a partnership, its principal owners are Stephen C. Brown, president and Chief Executive Officer and Edward Brown, vice president and Chief Financial Officer. As a minority owned Class A general contractor, we offer our clients a "one stop shop" for their construction and renovation projects.

In the past five years, our sales have tripled. We attribute this growth to our market strategy, sales effort and the relationships we have built with our customers.

No job is too small! Experienced in all types of industrial and commercial renovations, we use this knowledge and experience to ensure our customers complete and total satisfaction by meeting their budget and scheduling requirements. Hospital Renovations is our specialty!

The Medical College of Virginia (MCV) is our largest customer. Our many years working at MCV have given us the knowledge and experience needed to work in any health care environment.

Our employees have been trained in maintaining the proper air quality during construction by using HEPA air machines and the containments needed to create a negative air flow. Over the past three years we have worked at CJW Medical Center & Johnston Willis Campus, Retreat Hospital and we have recently acquired a JOC contract at the VA Medical Center.

Our client list also includes National Park Service, Richmond Public Schools, Virginia Commonwealth University, the City of Richmond, the State Corporation Commission and GRTC. Our government 8(A) status allows us to work on any military or government facility. In 2002, Commonwealth became one of four general contractors pre-qualified with the State of Virginia- Department of General Services to perform work in state office buildings in the Richmond area.

Commonwealth works to assist its clients with their smallest construction projects, as well as, large projects. We pride ourselves in being responsive to our customers and providing them quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
