Before attending medical school, Dr. Dixon completed undergraduate and post-baccalaureate studies at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, where she received a Bachelor and Masters of Arts in Natural Sciences and Biology. She then completed a Master of Science from the University of Texas, Southwestern Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in Dallas in 1996.
Dr. Dixon then received her Doctorate of Medicine in 2000 from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Lubbock. Finally, she completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno in 2003.
