History of Harvey Advertising, Inc. d.b.a. Harvey-Daco

Harvey Advertising Company was organized as a sole proprietorship in advertising specialty sales in 1949 by Hardy C. Harvey and his wife, Dorothy. The first office of the company was in their garage in Waco, Texas. Mr. Harvey was the only salesman for about a year, and Mrs. Harvey managed the office and finances. The sales team began to grow with the addition of a policeman who sold part-time and a full-time salesman in San Antonio. Warren Tynes was hired in the Waco office to begin to assist with office and sales management.

The business did well and salespeople were hired throughout Texas and Oklahoma. Mr. Harvey eventually changed the business to a partnership. The partners included members of his family, some original salesmen, and Warren Tynes.

In July 1963 the business was incorporated by the State of Texas and Warren Tynes assumed the responsibility for company operation. Mr. Harvey died in 1967. None of the original partners of the business other than the family of Warren Tynes are associated with Harvey-Daco today.

From the organization of Harvey Advertising the salespeople had been independent contractors. In 1985 Harvey Advertising totally changed its method of operation offering the salespeople the opportunity to become employees of the company.

In 1989 Harvey Advertising merged with Davis Advertising Company / DACO of Ft. Worth. The company retained the official name of Harvey Advertising Company but began doing business as Harvey-Daco, Inc.

The company continues to grow and has offices in Irving, Texas (DFW area), Austin, Houston, San Antonio, New Braunfels, Carthage, Longview, Abilene, Washington State, and Utah. The home office remains in Waco, Texas. The Company continues to operate with both independent contractor sales associates, as well as, full-time commissioned sales employees through out Texas and in other parts of the country.

Harvey-Daco has advanced to become one of the largest and most respected promotional products distributors in the country. It has integrated technology advances with time tested / proven sales strategies and superb in-house customer service.
