After some 20 years of experience in the design of unique hospital facilities, Tom and his family weathered a family health crisis that introduced him to the concept of hospice. He designed his first hospice in Asheboro, North Carolina. The experience was so inspiring that he chose to move his entire family to Asheboro where he became an active member of the community. During his years there, Tom served as a trained hospice field volunteer, a member of the Board of Directors, and ultimately as a caregiver for his mother for the last year of her life. Having experienced hospice from all sides, Tom is uniquely qualified to speak to all types of issues that effect hospice.
