Kermans Fine Flooring is a proud family business that has served Indianapolis and surrounding areas since 1921. Kermans was founded by Robert J. Benjamin, born in 1896 in the northwest city of Rezaiyeh, Persia. He made his way to the United States at the age of 16, with no money or knowledge of the English language, young Mr. Benjamin was determined to start a new life. He married in 1921, and started Kerman Oriental Rug Company the same year, full of his ambition to become a successful American businessman. By the 1960s, Benjamin’s three sons were also working in the family business and Kermans Oriental Rug Company became Kermans Fine Flooring as it expanded to become a complete floor covering business and one of the premier flooring stores in the state of Indiana. Today, Kermans is run by the third generation of the Benjamin family. The foundation of Kermans remains quality, service and a rich tradition of values that stands strong even in the midst of an ever-changing market. Kermans Fine Flooring retail showroom, located at 4505 E. 82nd Street, showcases beauty, quality and excellence. Designed with interior design in mind, Kermans showroom features exclusive names, including Ralph Lauren, Fabrica, Masland and Armstrong. Kermans also displays Indiana’s only Karastan Gallery of Design, including the entire Karastan offering of rugs & carpets. Kermans believes in carrying only the finest names and selections for our clients and designers.
