In 1970, Ketamine was approved by the FDA as an anesthetic and it has been in use all over the world in humans and animals. It is a potent pain killer and anesthetic that does not depress the cardiovascular or respiratory systems as much as other anesthetics. At higher doses it is used in the operating and emergency rooms for injuries, pain, and surgeries.
In the last decade, Ketamine has been a source of many research studies for use in many alternative ways. It has had very positive results with studies being presented from major Universities and health organizations. Work has been done at The National Institute of Mental Health, Stanford, Yale, Cleveland Clinic, USC, and Massachusetts General Hospital, and University of Utah. At low doses, it has been found to have many applications and to be quite beneficial in treating mood disorders (major depression, bipolar, obsessive-compulsive, anxiety, post-partum depression, post-traumatic stress disorder), chronic pain, migraines, etc.
WHAT DOES THE RESEARCH SAY?
Early research demonstrated quick relief but the relief only lasted 7-10 days. Research is showing more lasting differences with a series of infusions, usually 4-6 over a 2-3 week period. We customize ketamine infusion therapy to each person as everyone is different and we want to give you what you need. Many have wondered about intramuscular or intranasal administration but it is hard to control the actual effective amount reaching your system and results have not been nearly as good with these techniques. Receiving the ketamine intravenously we are able to control the actual amount of the medicine in your blood and receive a concentration that will get you your desired effects. With an IV in place, we can quickly administer medications to calm nerves, or prevent nausea if such side effects occur. We can even stop the infusion at any time if needed.
The medicine is felt very quickly, usually within 5 minutes after your IV is placed, and its immediate effects disappear in 15-20 minutes once you complete your session, so you can get back to your life. We know exactly how much we have given you so we can make adjustments based on your response giving better long term results.
WHY IV?
Put quite simply, IV is the most reliable and effective delivery method for vitamins and minerals. The results are quick, and effective for a variety of problems, from hangovers to jet lag to low energy.
7-20%
Absorption Rate Of Orally Ingested Vitamins
Absorption with IVs is much higher than absorption with any oral options. The intestine where absorption takes place for most nutrients. For a variety of reasons, like gastrointestinal disorders like IBS, and lack of healthy gut bacteria due to antibiotic use, many bodies don’t adequately absorb vitamins and minerals. Called malabsorption, this can lead to many problems, like low energy levels, and low electrolyte levels, along with frequent illness. When vitamins and minerals are taken intravenously, they bypass the problems associated with the GI tract and are able to be fully absorbed by tissues in the body.
