MD Biosciences is a niche preclinical research group. Our core therapeutic areas are inflammation, CNS, pain and cardiovascular with an emphasis on the interplay between these systems.

Our approach

We place heavy emphasis on the scientific rationale of each study to ensure that it meets the goals of the R&D program. We are willing to invest in custom study design, development and validation with our sponsors to achieve clinically relevant data at the preclinical stages. We feel that this will help reduce the failure rate in clincial stages and the burden upon the industry.

Our scientists

We employ a highly talented group of scientists consisting of PhD, MSc and Bachelor degrees. Each scientist is specialized and highly skilled in their area of expertise. Our group has all been trained in various techniques including microsurgical procedures, injection methods, model and method development as well as imaging and histological techniques. The CNS/Neurology team is led by Dr Sigal Meilin who focused her post-doctoral studies on multi-parameter monitoring of the human brain. She as extensive experience with various therapeutic areas including epilepsy, Alzheimers Disease, Parkinsons Disease, Stroke, Pain, kidney ischemia, inflammation, neuroinflammation and liver inflammation. She has had more than 12 years in the industry coming from neuroinflammation and device companies.
