Contacts Luisa Robinson The Mercer County Hispanic Association (MECHA) was founded in 1985 to establish and ensure that adequate representation and services are provided to meet the needs of the Latino population of Mercer County. MECHA’s mission is to provide and/or facilitate access to social services and advocate on behalf of the Latino community. MECHA serves people in need from all of Mercer County’s Communities, working to provide them with the skills and services necessary to promote self-sufficiency. MECHA provides the following services:
Housing Resource Center: MECHA offers housing locator services, education, and training on issues such as tenants’ rights and responsibilities, opportunities and trends in homeownership (pre and post-mortgage), technical assistance and counseling with financial problems, i.e. foreclosures, etc. In addition, we serve as advocates for the individual and assist with utilities issues, at times providing funding subsidies.
