During her time as a volunteer, Karla noticed an acute need for clinical end-of-life education and started her flagship publication, Quality of Life Matters, shortly thereafter.

Since her company's inception, four other members of Karla's immediate family were helped by hospice, including her beloved husband, Gerry. Gerry's tragic death further fueled the company's dedication to produce quality publications to help dying patients and their families.

Quality of Life Publishing Co. continues to expand its offerings beyond end-of-life support, providing educational materials for home care, private duty, and healthcare organizations everywhere.
