Dr. Shabazz then returned to the area she loves to obtain her medical degree and masters of public health in community health from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She stayed at George Washington University to complete her internship in internal medicine. She then moved to Los Angeles, California to undergo her dermatology residency at King-Drew/Harbor UCLA Medical Center, serving as chief resident her final year. Shortly after moving back to Virginia, she established Renascance Dermatology.
