About Us
Headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina, Synergem Technologies, Inc., The Next Generation of 9-1-1 service provider is a privately held company providing intelligent Next Generation 9-1-1 (iNG911(TM)) solutions across the entire emergency communications spectrum. In its home state, Synergem is a regulated Competitive Local Provider (CLP, a title unique to NC that is equivalent to a CLEC in other parts of the nation).
Having developed one of the nation's only Emergency Services IP-based Networks (ESInet) that fully complies with NENA i3 standards, the company moved on to analyze the needs of the three segments of the emergency communications community; the PSAP, the network and the telephone service provider. Then Synergem developed a set of hosted applications that move 9-1-1 into the digital communications age. These apps include a CAD2CAD interactive data exchange service, a corporate-strength emergency conferencing solution and many others. Customers can subscribe to ESInet alone, the ESInet and selected hosted applications or selected applications alone.
Synergem's ESInet is hosted in a full brick ballistic-resistant structure with no exterior windows, featuring stringent security, grounding connections on all posts, cages and cabinets and its own electrical grid in close proximity to the local substation. Our data center provides unparalleled survivability, interoperability and flexibility.
The company develops its products within a technical partnership that includes Avaya, ArrowS3, GeoComm, NACR and others. You get the personal attention of a small company and the almost unlimited array of products available only through the largest suppliers.
Synergem team members have participated in numerous Next Generation 9-1-1 designs and proposals incorporating a variety of emergency communications vendors such as Intrado, SolaCom, VIXXI, Positron, InterAct and others and, thus, are very conversant with industry NG trends, emerging technologies, NENA's i3 specifications, the alternate ATIS Request for Assistance Interface (RFAI) and Emergency Services Messaging Interface (ESMI) standards for Emergency Services-Next Generation Networks (ES-NGN).
The company has been engaged by the Commonwealth of Virginia's Southside ES-NGN pilot project in a consulting role. Currently, Synergem is provisioning the first NENA i3 Next Generation 9-1-1 network in the State of North Carolina. This network will be one of the first, NENA i3 compliant ESInets in the nation.
Synergem staff members, augmented by personnel provided by our strategic partners are also very active in industry committees defining standards, processes and procedures.
