OUR PRODUCTS
At Tekizma, we build health informatics software that empowers users and streamlines the delivery of quality care, establishing consumer confidence, satisfaction, and trust. Leveraging the expertise and passion of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team, Tekizma offers industry innovation through a number of distinct product groups:
TEKIZMA RECON SUITE is a cloud-based suite of products that equip enterprise owners with the means to proactively ensure cross-system data integrity. Tekizma Recon is designed to handle the complexities of current and future health IT implementations, distinguishing itself as the only tool on the market that offers complete health data reconciliation solutions.
Though designed to be industry-agnostic, Tekizma Recon was originally deployed to oversee state health exchange eligibility systems. The IT infrastructure that supports health exchanges is complex. Several different institutions, systems and users constantly interface with one another. Data moves with such rapid pace and density that information can get lost in translation, giving rise to unintended asymmetries which, left unchecked, become compounded and difficult to trace. In the end, we want to ensure system level discrepancies have no effect on the delivery or quality of healthcare. Without Tekizma Recon, the burden of these inconsistencies falls on consumers.
Tekizma Recon empowers enterprise owners with unparalleled data integrity oversight by proactively identifying and correcting intersystem discrepancies before they impact end-consumers. By providing timely, specific information about aberrations in exchange system data, Tekizma Recon maximizes oversight efficiency and ensures that all consumers have continuous, reliable access to quality care.
DUPLICATE DEFENSE is a product designed to be employed by enterprise owners to find duplicate or linked records both within and across databases. Maintaining data in healthcare systems is paramount to the consistent delivery of high-quality care. A key attribute of data quality is that each and every record in a system should represent a unique entity. Yet duplicate records are a ubiquitous burden on data quality, especially in the healthcare industry in which common standards for data collection, storage and interoperability have yet to be consistently implemented.
For example, the average duplicate rate for a single hospital can range from between 5-10%; for integrated delivery networks, the duplicate rate can reach 25%. Duplicate records can arise for a variety of reasons, ranging from typographical errors to multiple or mishandled intake events. Yet even something so seemingly innocuous can have serious adverse effects on patient safety. Duplicate records have been responsible for missed laboratory test results longer wait times in ambulatory care, the administration of medication or care to the wrong patient, and outright denial of care. The financial costs of duplicate records are significant, as well.
Duplicate Defense can protect your customers and stakeholders from these results. Developed in conjunction with experts in healthcare information management, it was initially designed to operate in the healthcare industry; it is nevertheless flexible and powerful enough to digest any administrative dataset in any industry. Our product utilizes state-of-the-art machine learning techniques ensure unprecedented levels of accuracy and system-to-system flexibility.
TEKIZMA INTEGRATED HEALTH (TIH) products are conceived in the spirit of improving access to quality care. Our technology enables doctors and patients to be active partners in health by creating innovative pathways for personalized healthcare solutions:
Patient Manager makes it easier than ever for physicians and patients to collaborate in optimizing treatment. Offered as both a mobile and web-based system, the Patient Manager acts as a personal coach to help patients stay on track with even the most complicated treatment plan. Besides reminding patients of when to take medication and attend appointments, it allows doctors to monitor their progress and compliance. Patients send information on the type of medication taken, how much and when, as well as test results, allowing doctors to adjust treatment if necessary. In this way, the Patient Manager fosters the patient-physician dialogue needed to guarantee the best possible treatment outcomes.
NELL Med, currently under development, will arm physicians with the latest research so they can make the best clinical decisions for their patients. Scholarly journals publish staggering amounts of medical research. The National Library of Medicine at the National Institutes of Health processes up to 4,000 references each day, resulting in more than 805,000 new citations in 2015 alone. How can busy clinicians -- who have barely enough time to even see patients -- keep pace with this constant stream of information?
One possible solution stems from research being conducted by a team of students and professors at Carnegie Mellon University. In 2010, they launched the Never Ending Language Learner, or NELL, a machine that teaches itself to read. In the same way humans read to retrieve information, NELL scans websites for text patterns that it uses to learn discrete pieces of information (so-called “beliefs”). NELL has since learned more than 2.5 million beliefs with a high level of confidence. If NELL can learn so much from such a vast diversity of text, we believe we can design a machine to read and learn from the enormous, ever-evolving body of medical research, and make the findings and implications of every published study easily searchable.
