Company Summary

Turbine Broach Company was incorporated in February of 1972. As a broach insert manufacturer qualified and equipped to make all kinds of flat and form broaches, we have specialized in fir tree and dovetail broaches for the aerospace industry. We can, however, build many other types of broach inserts.



Turbine Broach Company is a family run business founded by Clifford W. Short, a pioneer in the aerospace broach field. It is currently owned and operated by his son Timothy Short who has been with the business since 1978.



Turbine Broach Company has twelve experienced men with many years of manufacturing to their credit all working in our new facility opened the beginning of 2010. Our Broach toolmakers have a combined broach making experience in excess of 290 years. The ownership has a close relationship with the employees and often work alongside them.



Production and quality problems are discussed often because of this close owner/worker relationship. The company has participated in General Electric's Supplier Excellence quality assurance program and consistently scored high ratings. We achieved our ISO-9001 certification in August of 1998 and are currently ISO-9001:2008 certified.



High morale, simple organization structure and low overhead enable us to provide our customers with quality service. We provide remanufacturing/sharpening of existing cutters as well as building them from raw material through the stages of manufacturing. We do not stock any standard tooling and we custom build everything from print to specifications. We will also design the inserts to use on your machine.



For a number of years we have supplied both the Lynn, MA. and Wilmington, NC. plants for General Electric Company with broach inserts. We have also supplied tooling for Pratt and Whitney, Avco Lycoming TEXTRON, GM Allison, Samsung Aerospace, Bet-Shemesh Engines, IHI, Tusas Engines Industries and others.



We depend fully on our products to do the advertising for us. We do not have a brochure and rely only on word of mouth to acquire business. We are proud of our quality and upon request would be glad to provide you with some references attesting to our abilities.
