Dr. Friedlander used to always hate going to the dentist as a child. So when a family friend suggested that he apply to dental school back in 1991 his first thought was “why would I want to stick my hands in people’s mouths all day?” Well here he is over two decades later doing just that. “Sticking my hands in people’s mouths all day.” Dentistry may seem like that to some people but it is so much more to him. Oral health is a very important aspect of overall health. It’s time to move past the old paradigm of getting your teeth cleaned twice a year and waiting until something hurts then trying to fix it. His job as a dentist is to educate people and teach them the importance of oral health. It’s more than just drilling and filling. We can help people improve their lives through dental care. There are links between periodontal disease and cardiovascular disease that people need to made aware of. What about sleep? Lack of quality sleep will result in a shortened lifespan. An oral appliance can help with chronic obtrusive sleep apnea and lengthen your life. Who wouldn’t want that? It is our job here at Whiteland Dental Associates to provide patients with a total oral health care approach. We don’t just fill cavities and clean teeth. We address the whole mouth and in turn the whole patient. That is what sets us apart from other offices.

A little about Dr. Friedlander, he was born in Broomall and has lived in this area almost his entire life. He attended Emory University in Atlanta, GA and received a B.S. in biology with a minor in psychology.

He then received his dental degree from Temple University School of Dentistry. He did one year general practice residency at Monmouth Medical Center. He has been associated with Whiteland Dental Associates since 2005. When he is not “sticking my hands in people’s mouths” he enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife and two incredible children. He also spends a lot of time playing the guitar and exercising.
